To me Veincent Peters is definitely one the most important professionals working in fashion since already two decades.
Not many photographers have been able to survive at the digital revolution, happened during the 21st century, revolution that has decimated thousands of artists already established. Only the very top one survive, and he is one of them.

At the beginning of my career, as fashion assistant I had the chance to collaborate with some of them like Peter Lindberg, Helmuth Newton, Ellen Von Unwert, Albert Watson and many others and what really make all of them stand out, is theirs unique mood and in photography-style, they may some get similar one to the others, but just in some aspects, for the rest, they have been able to develop a such unique way to portraits women and fashion garments that make them extremely recognizable at the first sight. This being so recognizable, to me,is what make photographers become, Master of photography.

Just to give an idea of his style, I would like to consider that he probably get some how, inspired from another top artists passed away a few months ago, Peter Lindberg, and what he probably has breathed from him, was his great way of portraying women, but as well, Vincent was able to mix this great passions "to tell about woman", with his unique way to use lights and to create deep mood. Vincent peters has actually a very unique touch on using lights, and especially one of the most known films/photographic light equipment, the Arri HIM, born for the movies, and during the years started to be very famous also on fashion environment too.

Well, as you can catch from his set, he has a total control of light and shadows on his images. Subjects always come out extremely intense, sensual and determinate to express their passion and strong presence.

The other aspect we need to start to, is his women's vision, you can not think about this artist separately from a woman universe. His women are always so sensual, elegant, real woman, and whenever they wear a dress, they do it for real, and not just for the camera. To me, nobody can stand and look at his women without feeling vibration insight, that is made possible because his subjects are “real women”.

He is able to freeze life into his models or celebrity, no one of his subjects are just “model” any of them express life, a very real life emotions. Do you think is this an easy tasks, not at all my dear friends, put life into a model eyes is the most difficult efforts any photographers has to go trough, but at the same time, is the real and unique secret to made a photo become THE PHOTO, and stay alive forever. For the rest I believe you have to discover this great artist by your self, he is the one who doesn't hide his work on the web, compare others artists that try to hide their work (can't tell you why) so he is an open talented, open to the world, to the whole photographer lovers. So let's start to follow him on Instagram and try to be inspired by his work, can only drive you to the next step in your photography's passion.

Bio and technical information

Born in 1969, Vincent Peters grew up during the 1980s and was inspired by the artistic culture of the time. The 1980s were a turbulent period culturally, and were marked by growing global capitalism, widespread mass media, significant discrepancies in wealth, alongside a distinctive sense of music and fashion, epitomised by electronic pop music and hip hop. Artists growing up during this time were heavily influenced by this cultural environment. The 1980s were an important decade in terms of politics, marked by the African Famine and the end of the Cold War, which was signified by the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Neo Geo and The Pictures Generation became leading art movements during the decade, alongside Neo-Expressionism which became popular in Germany, France and Italy (where it was known as Transavanguardia). Artists such as Anselm Kiefer, Jörg Immendorf, Enzo Cucchi, Francesco Clemente and Julian Schnabel were primary artists of the era, alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring and Kenny Scharf, who established the street art and graffiti movements.

Vincent Peters shot worldwide campaigns for brands such as Miu Miu, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, and Wolfgang Joop. Over time he established himself with a recognizable style, and major fashion houses like La Perla, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Emporio Armani, L?Oréal, Lancôme, Nike, Levi?s, and many others came to him as corporate clients. His photographs appear in international magazines such as Vogue, GQ, The Sunday Times, Numéro, Glamour, etc.
